pretty Russian girls

I love pretty Russian girls…

Let’s face it pretty Russian girls have it made. Men all over the world would love to meet you and whisk you away to their homeland.

It has been that way for centuries….and I doubt it will stop anytime in the near future.

When my wife and I were visiting Istanbul we learned that one of the most powerful Sultans took a Ukrainian wife. Even back then pretty Russian girls were sought after by the wealthy and powerful men in the World.  Roxelana, who was from an area in Western Ukraine was brought back to Suleiman’s harem and eventually rose in power and influence. She was known for her beauty as well as her intelligence. Something to remember for those interested in pretty Russian girls, most are not only beautiful…

Like many pretty Russian girls Roxelana had much more than just her looks working for her. She grew in favor and power in the palace and was allowed things most other women in the harem were not. She was able to give birth to multiple children, something forbidden for the concubines. Suleiman the Magnificient eventually broke tradition and married Roxelana, something that had not been done in centuries, and making her the equal to princesses. Roxelanas began to receive a salary, virtually unheard of in that day and age.

Roxelana eventually is said to have listened in on State affairs from behind a secret wall and advise Suleiman the Magnificent on important matters. She also moved out of the harem and into the main palace with the Sultan.

The Sultans infatuation with Roxelana is how many of us married to Russian women must feel today.

“Throne of my lonely niche, my wealth, my love, my moonlight.
My most sincere friend, my confidant, my very existence, my Sultan, my one and only love.
The most beautiful among the beautiful…
My springtime, my merry faced love, my daytime, my sweetheart, laughing leaf…
My plants, my sweet, my rose, the one only who does not distress me in this world…
My Istanbul, my Caraman, the earth of my Anatolia
My Badakhshan, my Baghdad and Khorasan
My woman of the beautiful hair, my love of the slanted brow, my love of eyes full of mischief…
I’ll sing your praises always
I, lover of the tormented heart, Muhibbi of the eyes full of tears, I am happy.”
