Slavic Women Love Spicy Pork Shashlik
And we have the perfect recipe to satisfy a Slavic woman’s shashlik craving. Below is a recipe we have grown to love. Spicy red wine marinated pork shashlik. Pair it up with a cold piba or nice glass of wine.
- 4 minced garlic cloves
- 4 finely diced plum tomatoes
- 1 finely diced onion
- 1 cup red Georgian wine
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 4 pounds boneless pork shoulder cubed into large pieces
- Vegetable oil
- Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
In a large bowl combine the garlic, tomatoes, onion, wine, chopped cilantro, crushed red pepper, oregano and paprika. Add the pork and drown in the marinade. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the meat overnight so it absorbs the flavors.
Skewer the marinated pork making sure to leave space between each piece. You can add mushrooms, onions, or peppers between the meat as you wish. Brush the shashlik or kabobs with oil and season with freshly ground sea salt and black pepper. Grill over moderate heat while keeping an eye on the meat so it does not burn. Turn as needed until fully cooked. Estimated time is around 30 minutes.
Enjoy a piba and relax with the beautiful Slavic women while they make tasty dishes and Russian salads to accompany the main course.
